Compete for a chance to appear on the "3 Minute Game Show"

Town Center Mall and Discover Mills, in conjunction with Radio Disney AM will host a version of the popular “3 Minute Game Show,” this Saturday and Sunday. The “3 Minute Game Show” is a children’s game show that airs on the Disney Channel. 

Kids ages 16 and younger can test their Disney Channel knowledge for the chance to win a trip to Los Angeles to watch a taping of “3 Minute Game Show” and they could even win the chance to be a contestant.

Town Center Mall (400 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy, Kennesaw) will host their event on Saturday, October 16th on the Upper Level near JCPenny from 1-3 p.m. And Discover Mills (5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville) will host their event in the Food Court from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, October 17th.

Haunted Museum, Ghost Train Roll into Kennesaw

KENNESAW, GA -- Climb aboard the ghost train at the Southern Museum (2829 Cherokee Street, Kennesaw, 30144) for an event that is so much fun, it's scary.

The Haunted Museum returns on Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23, just in time for Halloween. Aside from a few ghouls and spooks, the Southern Museum will provide great activities for the whole family, including a pumpkin trail, pony rides, petting zoo, costume contest, face painting and more.

This event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on both nights. It is recommended for ages 10 and up. The tour is $5.50 for ages 10 to 12 and $7.50 for everyone else; the outdoor events are free. The museum will be closed during regular business hours on these days.

Holiday Help for Cobb County Families in Need

MARIETTA, GA -- Hundreds of Cobb County families live near, at or below the poverty line. They could use a boost, especially during the holidays.

This year, the Center for Family Resources, in partnership with the Department of Family and Children Services, will register 1,500 Cobb families for the 2010 Thanks for Giving campaign. It is estimated that this year will mark the largest Thanksgiving food distribution in the organization's history; it will take nearly 70,000 food items to ensure that every family in need receives the essentials for Thanksgiving.

Registration for Thanks for Giving 2010 will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 6 and Thursday, Oct. 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cobb County Civic Center (548 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, 30060). At this time, families can also sign up for the Cobb Christmas program.

Distribution of food boxes to registered families will be on Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 at Jim R.

Annual Bikers for Babies to Benefit March of Dimes

KENNESAW, GA -- It's full steam ahead for stronger, healthier babies. On Saturday, Sept. 18, die-hard bikers and weekend warriors will hit the road to raise urgently-needed funds for the March of Dimes and its mission to improve the health of all babies.

Registration for Bikers for Babies begins at 9:00 a.m., and kickstands go up at 11:00 a.m. for the official start of the ride.

Cobb CVB Plans Family Reunion Workshop

COBB COUNTY, GA -- The Cobb County Convention & Visitors Bureau will host a free Family Reunion Workshop from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta NW/Marietta (2055 South Park Place, Atlanta, 30339). The goal of the workshop is to show attendees how to plan a reunion from start to finish without breaking the bank.

The workshop includes a "How to Plan a Family Reunion" presentation by the CVB's family reunion service specialists, and a meet and greet with hospitality industry partners who specialize in family reunions. Participants will also receive a family reunion planning kit with tips and tricks for reserving hotels, selecting venues and planning itineraries.

Admission is free to anyone who is planning a family reunion in Cobb County, but seating is limited to two guests per reunion. A complimentary lunch will be served.
