Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand in $20 | Restaurants
ATLANTA – The relatively new restaurant Delia’s Chicken Sausage Stand is gaining popularity in the foodie world for their “out of the box” approach to meat inside of a bun. Delia’s Chicken Sausage is “made according to a recipe Delia has been perfecting for 15 years”. Delia Champion is the brain behind The Flying Biscuit Café and Molly Gunn owns The Porter Beer Bar, the two are co-owners of the restaurant.
The sausage is made from chickens raised on Georgia’s Springer Mountain Farms; the farm raises their chickens on a vegetarian diet; and they are antibiotic free. The sausage is pork free and served as a “Slinger” or “a hand-crafted jumbo link sausage on a Holeman & Finch hoagie roll”.
The restaurant offers tons of slingers, sliders and sides and the Where U Live team spoke with co-owner Molly Gunn and she told us, exactly, how we could get the most bang for our buck, which happens to be a $20. Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand is located at 489 Moreland Avenue in East Atlanta.
Every Tuesday, we will choose a restaurant in the Metro area and, with the help of the restaurant, we will demonstrate how you can “get a taste for the restaurant”.
Gunn suggested “The Three Way” slinger, as your main course. The Three Way is a chicken sausage link loaded with coleslaw, chili, sauerkraut and “comeback sauce”. The signature comeback sauce is a homemade BBQ based glaze used to glaze the sausage links. Gunn says, The Three Way is “pretty filling” and will “hold you over”. This slinger will set you back about $5.99.
Gunn then suggested the “Cheesie Wedgies” as a side item. The wedgies are the restaurant’s take on fries; they are described as “thick cut”. Wedgies are served with a side of homemade Wild Heaven cheese sauce, making them Cheesie Wedgies. These fries will set you back about $4.25.
The Swirlie is Delia’s signature drink. Tthe drink, an Arnold Palmer of sorts, is composed of homemade frozen raspberry lemonade and frozen sweet tea. The Swirlie is then swirled together and served in one cup. Guests can try it out for $2.50.
And to finish your meal off, Gunn recommends “The Cake Shake” which is a milkshake crafted with the restaurant’s homemade soft-serve ice cream and a whole cupcake. This week, the restaurant is offering a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake and Gunn thinks “it can't get much better than that”. The Cake Shake costs $2.99
