Sexual assault reported on KSU campus

KENNESAW, Ga. – Students at Kennesaw State are being warned of a reported sexual assault on campus.

The school sent out notifications to all students early Sunday about the incident

The incident allegedly happened at the victim's on-campus apartment at KSU Place on Idlewood Avenue. School officials say the victim is a student who rode home with the suspect from a party last Thursday night. The suspect is another KSU student.

Students at Kennesaw State say the notification from the school reminded them to stay in groups when attending parties.

Campus police say they will not comment any further on the incident because it is still under investigation.

Area Chick-fil-A stores hold fundraiser for Sparkman

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- Thousands of metro-area residents ate dinner with a purpose Wednesday night.

More than 40 Chick-fil-A restaurants donated at least 10% of their sales to Christopher Sparkman, the security guard shot during last year's rampage at the Kennesaw Fed Ex facility.

"It was on our calendar since the moment I found out about it," said Brittany Holbrooke.

One year later, #SparkmanStrong

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Just before dawn, a quiet April morning was shattered by gunfire. We would come to know the young man behind the gun as Geddy Kramer.

The troubled 19-year-old FedEx worker stormed the Kennesaw facility with a shotgun. He shoot six of his co-workers before turning the gun on himself.

It is often the case that the shooter becomes known. Their name becomes synonymous with the terror tied to their awful acts.

But in this case, it was not Kramer whose name would stay on our lips. It was Security guard Christopher Sparkman.

The 911 tapes from that day include calls for help from him and his co-workers:

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- It's been nearly one year since a gunman stormed a Kennesaw FedEx facility, shooting six people before killing himself.

One of the victims, 29-year-old security guard Christopher Sparkman, was struck in the abdomen. He has undergone more than 30 surgeries and continues to struggle both physically and financially. Jamie Lynn, Sparkman's wife, quit her job to care for him and has spoken publicly of the need for money.

Man pleads guilty in Kennesaw diamond heist

COBB COUNTY, Ga. -- A 30-year-old Cuban citizen has pleaded guilty to his part in a $1.6 million diamond heist in Cobb County.

Osniel Labrada-Guillen admitted to burglarizing Diamonds R Forever on Wade Green Road in January 2010. Prosecutors said Labrada-Guillen broke through the store's roof, disabled its alarm system, drilled holes in two safes, and made off with jewelry. They do not believe he acted alone.

"This was not, or could not have been, a one-man job," Cobb County Chief ADA Don Geary said in court. No other suspects have been identified or arrested.
