KENNESAW: U.S. women's soccer stars sell out stadium
News

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Some of the biggest names from the U.S. Women's soccer team who just competed in the World Cup were at Kennesaw State University Saturday night.

Members of rival teams -- the Atlanta Beat and Florida's Magicjack --joined the field together before the game to receive special recognition for their hard work in Frankfurt, Germany. The U.S. Women lost after a series of penalty kicks against Japan, but the players are still huge heroes back here at home.

Men, women and a large number of young female soccer fans packed KSU's stadium to get a glimpse of their favorites -- Christi Rampone, Becky Sauerbrunn, Abby Wambaugh, Kelly Parker, Heather Mitts, Carli Lloyd and others.

Many in the crowd were hoping to see goalie Hope Solo who had planned to attend, but cancelled at the last minute.

Saturday's score was 0-0.
