Victim ID'd in I-575 crash | News
KENNESAW, Ga. -- Police have identified the person killed in a single-car crash on northbound Interstate 575 last Friday as 33-year-old Joseph Guy Cooper.
The wreck happened shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Cobb County Police spokesman Mike Bowman said Cooper was driving his Ford Expedition on I-575 when it ran into the grassy median and hit the bridge over Hawkins Store Road in Kennesaw.
The car then slid along the wall and stopped on Hawkins Store Road, where it burst into flames, Bowman said.
Cooper, a Blue Ridge resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident is still under investigation.
