KENNESAW, Ga. -- Investigators have charged a 50-year-old Doraville man with hitting and killing a teacher while he was jogging.
William Benton was charged Monday in the death of 32-year-old Jeffrey "Jay" Ingram of Kennesaw. The physical education teacher was jogging at around 5 a.m. on January 26 when he was hit by Benton's Chevrolet Traverse. He died of his injuries the next day.
Benton, who was not injured, faces charges of second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to maintain lane. He was released on copies of the citation.
