KENNESAW | Atlanta Beat season suspended
KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Atlanta Beat women's professional soccer team won't play its 2012 season after its league announced a temporary suspension of this year's schedule.
Women's Professional Soccer announced the suspension of the season amid a legal dispute with an ousted owner. The league said in a statement that it hopes to resume in 2013.
Fitz Johnson, the team's owner and general manager, said he will make every effort to bring back the team next year.
The Atlanta Beat played its home games in the Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium.
