More kids back to school Monday

More than 100,000 students return to 112 schools in Cobb County Monday. Here are five tips to make sure you're not surprised in the morning.

1) Prepare for extra traffic and school buses. Don't run the stop arm, because Cobb is finalizing a deal to use a contractor to send $300 tickets to anyone who does.

2) Check your student's bus route online. If you enter your address here, you can have exact route information.

3) Leave the cell phone at home. You might have heard some Cobb students will be allowed to bring their own electronics to school. It's an experiment, but so far it will be limited to Lost Mountain, Floyd and J.J. Daniel Middle Schools.

4) A lot of construction, renovation and new hiring went on over the summer. Allow extra time to find your way around the school and meet new staffers.

5) Go to the Cobb homepage to find out how to pay school expenses with an Iphone or Ipad app download.
