Police Christmas fund to help needy families | Community Spirit
KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Kennesaw Police Department is working to help needy families in Kennesaw and Acworth this holiday season.
The 35th annual Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund accepts donations of money, food and toys for the less fortunate in north Cobb County.
Food and new toys can be delivered to the Kennesaw City Jail. Money can be delivered or mailed to the Kennesaw Police Department. Envelopes should be addressed to Officer Scott Luther, 2539 J.O. Stephenson Lane, Kennesaw, 30144.
Donations will be accepted through Tuesday, Dec. 18.
The police department will also take donations at Adams Park from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Anyone who donates at the park will be entered into a drawing to win a $25 gift card to LongHorn Steakhouse.
Last year's Jerry Worthan Memorial Christmas Fund helped 86 families, including 242 children. The Kennesaw Police Department is optimistic that this year's movement will be just as successful.
