Mike Mansfield Awards Dinner Gala Honors 2 JASG Members | Business
The Japan-America Society of Georgia (JASG), recently honored two outstanding leaders in the Japan-Georgia relationship at the Mike Mansfield Awards Dinner Gala at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta hotel in Buckhead.
The 2012 Mansfield Awards Winners: Mr. Alex Gregory, Chairman of the Board, president & CEO of YKK Corporation of America and Mr. Tom Yamamoto, Senior Advisor of Murata Electronics North America.
The entertainment highligh of the evening was a concert performance by special guest performer and friend of Alex Gregory, Grammy Award winning artist, Lee Greenwood. Mr. Greenwood is known as one of the most recognized American country music artists and has released more than twenty major-label albums and has charted more than 35 singles on the Billboard country music charts. Greenwood is best known for his single "God Bless the USA", which was popular when it was originally released in 1984, and became popular again after the 9/11 attacks. He also has charted seven No. 1 hits in his career.
About the Mike Mansfield Awards:
The "Mike Mansfield Awards" were established in December 1985 by the Executive Committee of The Japan-America Society of Georgia in honor of former Ambassador Mansfield's outstanding and steadfast efforts in fostering good will between Japan and the United States. The awards are presented to outstanding Americans and Japanese who have continuously contributed their efforts toward promoting better understanding of cultural and economic issues between the peoples of the United States and Japan. Notable past recipients include President Jimmy Carter, former Georgia Governors Joe Frank Harris, and George Busbee.
