Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival Crowns Champions
The Right Stuff Team won $2,000 in cash, a Big Green Egg cooker, a one-of-a-kind ceramic trophy and bragging rights as State Champions in the Georgia State Championship Barbeque Cookoff and Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) sanctioned competition. They took home additional cash and prizes in other judging categories, including 1st place in the beef brisket category and 5th place in the pork category as well as 1st place in the Anything Butt competition.

B.S. Pitmeisters was Reserve Grand Champion, winning $1,500 in cash and a trophy.

The category winners for each of the four professional categories are as follows:

Chicken - TNT Southern BBQ
Ribs: Mrs T’s BBQ
Pork: Dust’n & Rub’n Cooking
Brisket: The Right Stuff BBQ

In amatuer competition, the Georgia Boys BBQ team won the Backyard BBQ contest. Sweet Rack BBQ took 1st Place in the peach dessert contest.

Over 90 judges, most of them certified KCBS judges, rated the award winning entries. Kennesaw’s Mayor Mark Mathews announced the contest winners in an awards presentation on Saturday afternoon.

In the KenneSong talent competition, the winner in the Over 18 category was Alex Wright. In the Under 18 group, Kaylen McClure got the judges’ nod. The judges were music professionals Tricia Grey, David Leonard and Shelia Quattlebaum.
