Ga. Call Center Company to Hire 1,400 Workers

KENNESAW, Ga. (AP) -- One of the state's largest call center operators is hiring 1,400 seasonal and full-time workers in suburban Atlanta.

Ryla announced the jobs Monday, promising an average salary of $10 per hour at its Kennesaw headquarters. Most of the jobs - about 1,000 - will last just three months.

Company spokeswoman Karen Clay says the workers will help one of Ryla's clients enroll employees in a new health-care plan and will do federal government work for a third-party contractor. New workers could start as early as Nov. 2.

Ryla provides customer service, tech support, data collection, surveys and other back-office work for Fortune 500 companies, state governments and the federal government. The Georgia-based company was bought out earlier this year by California's Alorica Inc.
